Home/ Writing/ Check a Writing answer

Get a first read on your Writing.

Paste a Task 1 or Task 2 answer. In seconds you get an indicative band for each of the four marking criteria, the one thing to fix first, and a single worked correction, the quick read before the full report.

What this is, plainly. A quick, automated read, not an official mark, and deliberately partial: your bands, one priority, one fix. The full marked report, every correction, the patterns underneath them, and your priority drill, is human work on your own homework in a lesson. See a full example →
Which task is this?

Task 2 is the opinion or discussion essay, marked on Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy.

0 words Task 2 asks for at least 250 words.
·How the read works

Honest about what a machine can and cannot do.

i.

It marks the page, not the day

The read is built from the public scoring criteria of the test you choose: the four IELTS band descriptors, the PTE trait set on the 10 to 90 scale, or the six OET Writing criteria. It is a careful estimate of one answer, not your test result.

ii.

It points, you act

The value is in the priorities and the fixes, the specific things to change. Treat the band as a rough position, the advice as the work.

iii.

Nothing is stored

Your answer is sent for the read and then gone. It is not saved on the site and not kept after you close the page.
